the 2021 daily meme, week 11
March 12. Where would you like to spend the most time? At home -- but ALONE. Outside my home, the quiet floor at the university library, with a seat by the window. The place that no longer exists where I'd like to spend the most time is a Schlotzsky's where I used to go to have lunch and write.
13. Do you work harder with or without supervision? Define harder. As long as I have clear and realistic guidelines for what I need to do and when it needs to be done, I work more enthusiastically and effectively without supervision. Micromanagement kills my motivation.
14. Are details more your thing or do you prefer focusing on the big picture? Details, sometimes to the point of bogging down.
15. Are you likely to make more friends out of people you approached or are all friends of yours part of your extended inner circle? I don't approach people completely out of the blue, but I'd say most of my good friends became friends because we were doing the same activity together and got to know each other through that, not because they were friends of existing friends -- even if they were friends of existing friends, I probably met them through the activity. My friend circles overlap very little; I have work friends, writing group friends, online friends from various fora, dance friends, and now improv friends.
16. In an argument are you more willing to compromise or do you impose your point of view until the very end? If the other person's willing to compromise, I'm generally willing to do so as well. But if the other person won't budge and I can't find any point of agreement, I'll generally find some way to get out of the discussion if possible. Deep down I don't believe I can change anyone's mind, and while someone can change my mind, it's not going to happen because they keep hammering at me.
17. What activities make you lose track of time? Surfing the internet. Doing genealogy.
18. What did you love to do as a teen? Read and write stories, knit, listen to music, and play in band and orchestra.
