Aug 20: How well do you take criticism? Reasonably well if I already knew the thing was an issue or if it clarifies what's wrong with a project that I haven't been able to get a handle on. Out of left field criticism that makes no sense, I'll stew over.
Aug 21: What lifts your spirits when you’re feeling down? Good music, good chocolate, a humorous video, a positive comment on one of my AO3 fics.
Aug 22: Do you think everything happens for a reason? Yes, but I also think that "it was random chance" is a reason.
Aug 23: Would you rather be a famous actor or a famous director? Director, who always does a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in their movies. I like being unrecognized when I walk down the street. I want to be the person where everyone knows their name and no one knows their face (cf. the old American Express commercials).
Aug 24: If you won a huge lottery, with more money than you could use, what charitable organization or civic donation would you fund? I would visit my alma mater and see if they've managed to install a women's bathroom on the ground floor of the physics building yet. If not, I would donate money specifically for that purpose. Other than that, I'd keep giving to the organizations I already donate to; I'd just add a zero or two at the end of the number.

This is hard to answer, because I don't feel like I identify with characters -- I certainly understand particular aspects of their experiences, but I'm not looking at the screen/page and going "wow, that person is so much like me; how did the author get into my head?" That said, three characters who make me nod: Emily from Maud Hart Lovelace's Emily of Deep Valley; Janine Melnitz from original Ghostbusters; Carolyn Knapp-Shappey from Cabin Pressure.
