Definitely helps :-). It sounds like they might be useful if Middle Son needs a bridge from short picture books to chapter books, or if he gets interested in a particular historical period.

The clips I've seen on Youtube have sold me on buying the series if they're ever released on DVD in the US (Amazon US also has them as digital only, but our internet connection isn't fast enough for me to justify spending the money).
