Apr 15: It’s income tax day in the U.S. What do you enjoy the most that your tax dollars provide for society? Roads, libraries, public health, fire protection. (What have the Romans ever done for us?)

Apr 16: What three features would be non-negotiable in your dream house? A private upper-floor room with a view; solar panels; assuming it's in my current location, air conditioning plus fans and construction such that I only need the AC when it's over 95F/35C.

Apr 17: What’s a trait you admire in other people that, if you’re honest, you also have? (And by all rights should admire it about yourself!) The traits I can think of that I admire in other people and also have myself are generally traits that the other person embodies far better than I do, so while I admire the traits in myself, I also don't make that big a deal out of them.

Apr 18: Do you enjoy gardening? Have you started your garden already? What are you planting this year? I like the theory of gardening, and I certainly have the space for it, but in practice I'm not home enough in daylight to make it practical. (Okay, right now "I'm not home enough in daylight" doesn't apply, but since I wasn't prepared to put in a garden before we went on shelter-in-place, I'm not going to attempt it.) My ex and I attempted gardening a couple times when we were first in this house, and Spouse and I have tried putting in the occasional plant, but we've never gotten a harvest. And let's face it, it's really not a priority of mine, and if we reach the point where fresh veggies aren't available, I'd rather buy vegetables from a neighbor who's actually good at gardening.

Apr 19: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read this week? I just reread Leckie's The Raven Tower, which remains fabulous. And a classmate from my improv class introduced me to SCP Foundation, which I'm finding fascinating as a shared universe construction; it's more to the horror side than is my preference, but I can manage it in small doses.

Apr 20: Are you watching anything good on television right now? Nope. After so many years of having too little kid-free time to watch stuff that isn't suitable for young kids, I've gotten out of the habit of watching TV (or any of my DVD collection unless one of the kids is watching something), and getting back in the habit isn't one of my brain priorities at the moment.

Apr 21: What crafts do you enjoy doing? Knitting, crochet, spinning, occasionally cross-stitch or weaving.
