the 366 meme, part seventeen: April 22-28
Apr. 28th, 2020 11:31 amApr 22: What’s one thing you do to conserve resources or “go green”? In summer, I set the thermostat at 85F/29.4C during the day and 81F/27.2C at night. The AC runs just enough to keep us from frying, but our electric bill stays tolerable.
Apr 23: Again, fair folk, the day has come to speak
As if the Bard had writ the words for you.
But if blank verse sits not upon thy lips,
Then grace us with your thoughts about his plays.
Happy Talk Like Shakespeare Day! If speaking in blank verse all day is impractical for you, just tell us which of Shakespeare’s plays is your favorite and why. It's been a while since I've read them; I'm going to go with Much Ado about Nothing because I enjoy the Emma Thompson/Kenneth Branagh movie version, but my opinion may change on future reread.
Apr 24: Do you have what you consider to be a good habit, but is one that likely annoys other people? Adding relevant people to the CC list of work emails. It may be annoying because it pulls more people into the conversation, but given that one of the big faults in my workplace is forgetting to pass on information to people who need to know it, I'm fine with that.
Apr 25: Did your mother work outside the home when you were a child? What was her job? She was a stay-at-home parent, but she also worked as a church organist.
Oh, and by the way, my father worked outside the home, and also attended night school when I was small. There were several years where I only saw him on weekends.
Apr 26: What activity makes you lose track of time? Surfing the internet, of course. Reading. Genealogy -- when I get down enough of a rabbit hole, I can look up and find that an hour's passed without my noticing. Where I lose track of time most regularly, though, is when I've gotten out of the shower and am standing on the bathmat wrapped in a towel; my brain takes that as time to go gleefully wandering, and I can stand there for 15-20 minutes before my brain's back online for actually finishing drying off and getting dressed.
Apr 27: What’s one thing that happened today that went exactly as you planned or wanted it to? I set up a book for print-on-demand, and the setup went entirely smoothly. (For work, not personal; alas, none of my own writings are ready for making available to the world.)
Apr 28: What’s the one song that could be the theme song of your life? (Post a link?) I want it to be The WaterBoys, "New Life", but I suspect it's actually Neil Diamond, "Morningside"
