Sep 16: How did you make a difference for someone else today? I refrained from cussing out someone I desperately wanted to cuss out, and thus made their day less crappy than I could have.

Sep 17: If you were given $1M, with the stipulation that you must spend it on yourself within one year, how would you spend it? I'd renovate my house or buy a nice new one (though in this area, $1M isn't going to get *that* fancy a house), and I'd order a Golding spinning wheel just because.

Sep 18: What do you daydream about? Sex.

...okay, there's lots of other daydreams. Being so successful at some creative pursuit that I end up on the "Not My Job" segment of Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me. The YouTube performance channel that I'm never actually going to make. Saving people from a crisis. Winning the lottery and planning what I'd do with the money. But honestly, the majority of my daydream time involves imagining intimate encounters with hot men, or mentally replaying favorite hot scenes from fiction. (It'll be interesting to see how that changes as the ovaries continue shutting down.)

Sep 19: What was the first song you ever memorized? Probably a nursery rhyme or Christmas carol; I can't remember not knowing some song by memory.

Sep 20: What’s your favorite kind of bread? For sandwiches, a good sourdough or whole wheat. For eating on its own, Whole Foods's Sprouted Muesli bread, at least before they started adding dough conditioner to their recipes and ruining the texture of the bread.

The best bread I ever had was twenty years ago from a bakery in Belgium near my ex-MIL's old house. In the morning they would put balls of plain dough in the ovens to check that they were up to temperature, and they'd sell the resulting buns; you had to get there first thing to get those, and they were the most delicious plain white bread I've ever had.

Sep 21: What’s a big pet peeve you have? Scissors that are marketed as ambidextrous when they're actually right-handed.

Sep 22: Do you have an inanimate object that you have given a name? All of my handheld devices since my first Handspring Visor have been named Watson. Currently, I'm on Watson VII, an iPod Touch.
