Dear Yuletide Entity:

My general preferences are largely unchanged. I like happy or at least hopeful endings. I'm usually okay with slash, het, or gen; I'm not crazy about 'cest. Gore and graphic violence are squicks; I'd rather not read about any non-con sex that isn't in the source material.

Specifics:

Alexandre Dumas, Count of Monte Cristo: Still desperately wanting a happy ending for Mercedes. I love this book deeply, but every time I reread, I find myself annoyed about the standard Mercedes is held to, and I want to see her find new hope, love, etc. I want her to be like Ista in Bujold's Chalionverse, receiving grace unlooked-for. That said, it's up to you what form that new hope takes, whether it's the love of God or a hot young man or an unexpected talent.

The Golden Name Day Series, Jennie Lindquist: I've loved these books since I was a kid, and I want fic for them to exist. More of them as kids would be fine; so would what they do as adults (and how they pass Swedish traditions down to the next generation -- I can imagine Nancy's husband, assuming she marries outside the town, being bemused at all the Swedish traditions she brings into the family).

Chicken Run: I have a particular soft spot in my heart for Babs (she's totally smarter than she lets on, and knitting FTW!) and of course I love Ginger, but anything's fine. An early escape attempt that failed? An ordinary day on the farm showing how they cope? A day in the chicken sanctuary? What if one of the chicks hates the sanctuary and wants to go live on a farm? Use your imagination.

Without a Clue: I adore this take on Watson; I love Kingsley's performance; anything with the wonders of John Watson, Crime Doctor would be excellent! I'd particularly like to see their next case, now that Watson and Kincaid!Holmes have come to appreciate each other more. (Bonus for hints that Lestrade and the real Leslie Giles have turned out to hit it off, but not necessary.)

And overall: Thank you! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
