Jul 1: What was the first concert you went to? I'm reasonably sure I went to more than one orchestra concert before I was ten (and definitely one at which Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" was one of the pieces performed), but I have no memory of what the first one would've been. The first live band I saw was either Ceili's Muse or Feo y Loco, don't remember which, in Houston around 1990. The first (and so far only) big arena concert I ever went to was Neil Diamond when he was on tour in the mid-1990s. (I'm not a massive Neil Diamond fan, but a Neil Diamond greatest hits album was one of the cassette tapes my parents would play in the car on long trips, along with the musical Camelot and a couple of Grady Nutt's comedy albums.)

Jul 2: Have you ever gotten into a physical fight with someone? Yes, at church, with the pastor's daughter. (She started it.) (And finished it.)

Jul 3: What small courtesy did someone pay you today? Grocery store employee said they liked my mask fabric.

Jul 4: What’s your favorite musical? That I've seen? Les Miz. That I've heard? Hamilton.

Jul 5: How do you respond in a crisis? Depends on the kind of crisis and whether I have experience/training. If there was a car wreck right in front of me, I'd probably be useless; I have no first aid training, and my cell phone is likely dead. Work crisis? There I can calmly look at what's going on and figure out what if anything I'm able to do to help the situation.

Jul 6: Have you ever pretended to speak a foreign language you don't actually know? Hell no. Why would I want to do that?

Jul 7: Which art movement best describes you today (e.g. surrealism, dada, impressionism, etc.)? Abstract expressionism. I'm doing a bunch of spontaneous things that make no sense.
