the 2021 daily meme, week 28
Jul. 15th, 2021 11:03 pmJuly 9. When someone knocks on the door, who do you think it is? Unless I'm expecting someone, either the neighbor kid or a door-to-door salesperson.
10. Did your parents live in a different country before you were born? Nope.
11. What's something you've experienced that very few others have? My life.
12. Do you have to wear an identification badge at your job? No, but I do at my volunteer gig.
13. Do you like when friends stop by unexpectedly? Once in a very long while it's nice. If a friend who lived out of town called and said "I'm in town for the afternoon", heck yes I'd rearrange plans for them. Or if the friend is stopping by for five minutes because while they were out they found something they thought I'd like and are dropping it off, that's lovely and thoughtful. But if they show up unexpectedly and expect to hang out, I'm going to be a little annoyed if I had other plans, and if it happens regularly, they'd better be folks I really really like otherwise or I'm going to cool off on the friendship.
(This is assuming my current living situation of not having close friends living within walking distance, and also assuming no pandemic. In a situation like a college dorm, someone knocking on the door to see if I'm available is fine; if I had a friend down the street, I'd be tolerant of them stopping by, in part because if I said "sorry, can't talk now" it's no big deal for them to go back home. If you have to drive to get to my house, do me the courtesy of contacting me to see if I'm available before you make a grand gesture.)
14. How old were you when you moved to your current home? Over two decades younger than I am now.
15. If you apply your makeup, do you do it in a specific order? Assuming this is an interesting dialect version of "if you wear makeup", I don't wear makeup, but I suspect if I did I'd have an order.
