castironI've wanted to make Extermiknit ever since I first saw the pattern, and the Ravellenics Games were the perfect excuse.
Spouse, however, expressed concern about having a robotic force for evil resident in our house -- dangerous to the short people and all that. "Make sure that it's a non-functional Dalek," he said. Every time I've shown him my progress over the past few days, he's said, "Are you sure it's non-functional?", "Gotta double-check and make sure it doesn't work," "You didn't forget and make it functional, did you?", and variants thereof.
So, how do you make sure your Dalek is non-functional?
You give it a heart.
One non-functional Dalek completed.
(Just to be even more wrong, its name is Rory.)
