Nov 25: Can you be counted on to do what you say you'll do? Not as much as I'd like to be, which is why I've started telling middle child to make a note on the wall calendar if I say I'll play board games with them on a particular weekend; the calendar will remind me.
Nov 26: Do you think there are benefits to feeling grateful? Well, the psychologists who study this certainly say so. I think it helps to balance my view of the world (hey! here's something that doesn't suck!) and can make me feel a bit happier.
Nov 27: In conversations, do you tend to listen or talk more? In one-on-one conversations, I may be talky. The more people that are involved in the conversation, the more likely it is that I'm listening.
Nov 28: Sum up your personality by choosing three fictional characters that you might combine to make YOU. Bartleby the Scrivener, Fanny Price, and Gonzo the Great.
Nov 29: What’s your favorite color in the Crayola 64-crayon box? If you are super-fancy and sophisticated and use the 150-crayon size box, that’s fine, too. Ya diva. We probably have one around here, but I'm not sure where it is, and half the crayons have probably gone walkabout anyway. So I'll say "cornflower blue" because it's the only name I remember other than "burnt umber", which is definitely not my favorite. (I think cornflower blue is the blue that's way too light and was always frustrating to use when I was a kid, but other color names aren't coming to mind right now.)
Nov 30: What’s your favorite tree? Catalpa. They have cool-looking flowers and leaves. I'm also partial to pecan trees (because pecans are delicious), crepe myrtles (because I love the flowers), and mulberry trees (fond memories of one summer of music camp where there were mulberry trees on the path from the dorms to the class building).
Dec 1: How do you feel about snow? It's nice to have about once a year, and then it's nice for it to go away.
